If ever there was a restaurant worth making a major detour just to sample, then this is it. I was working in Bordeaux, happened to be in Pauillac and joined two colleagues for a totally unplanned lunch here. The food & service was so good we spent the rest of our three weeks in France talking about it. I had duck which was simply the best I'd ever had - a friend had the seafood salad and it was so good he was heartbroken when he realised we didn't have the time in Bordeaux to make it back here for a return visit. An oasis in a sea of vines? Loved the food. Service wasn't as attentive as it should have been. Daily salad special (Green bean) was tasty. As was the charcuterie plate starter. I enjoyed the veal hanger steak as well. Wife ordered the daily special main: Roast Veal. Except she got roast pork. It was good, very good. But... no mention of the switcheroo. But we heard them explain to the next table what was going on. We have nothing against pork, but it does seem to us that we should have been told. agrarian frame, impeccable service for the positive! but when mm what counts in a restaurant stops the quality of the kitchen and it became gte. Even if you didn't get a meal from the menu, we're looking for a little fantasy, subtle preparations, seasoning, it was nothing. desserts are very low: a passable but minimalist ridge and let's make justice to the dagrum dessert that was excellent. an addition of 80 when mme, the summum both the bottle of the bill of belfs 6 (sold 0.68 crossroads) . for us a premire and last visit of this restaurant.
After touring chateaux in the Medoc region it can be hard to find a great meal. Look no further than Cafe Lavinal. Although hard to find even when you know where it is in the center of this small town on the town square. If nice weather, walk through the indoor bar and restaurant to the umbrella tables outside. Food was wonderful and service professional, even when we walked out and, by accident, forgot to pay our tab. A waiter politely followed us out to remind us that our billet remained unpaid. Great spot for a multi-hour lunch.

When you imagine as an American what a "dreamy" French restaurant would be, this is it! I have been to France many times and have eaten in many restaurants but this one is special. The location, the aesthetics of the restaurant and of course most importantly the food was just perfect. It is like something out of a Hollywood movie set but it is real. Would highly recommend if you are in this area of the Medoc.
This is an oasis in the small recently restored town and joins the JM Cazes other enterprises as a successful bistrot. It shares the chef with Cordellian Bages down the road. The veal dish, fish and desert were all quite good and reasonably priced. The wine list contains example of Mr Cazes many vineyard properties.
we went there by the agency burglar flavors. the recent comments made us doubt. However, we were generally very satisfied. decoration made recently apparently, pleasant frame. salmon tartare at the entrance, then enguir in the parsillad. fast service despite our late arrival at 1:45.

Had a great lunch both of us had the beef luncheon special and it was very good.
