Wow! We spend eight days a year in Venice. For food lovers, this restaurant is a “must go” place. Be sure to try as many things as possible. The salade du soleil is far different, and better, than the house salads at nearly any other restaurant. The salad will serve two people. I had the duck special. Terrific. Kathy had the short ribs. A cozy beautiful French Restaurant one street over from Venice avenue. Very small menu, however the food is excellent. A husband and his wife are the owners and always engaged with their customers. We go here enough so they know us and I feel like I'm eating at a friends house. These are my favorite restaurants,when the owner comes over to talk with you. I also find these are the best run restaurants also. Don't change anything! For appetizers my wife had their salad and I tried the Escargots. Yummy!!! For our main courses My wife had theSaumon Grille and I tried their Beef Short Ribs-veal in a red Bordeaux wine sauce-we can't wait to come back for more. Make sure you order the Gratin Dauphi...

So sad to see the owners leave to go back to France. The restaurant food, service and ambiance was fabulous. Venice needs more good ethnic restaurants. They all do good business but unfortunately it’s hard to get servers and many customers don’t tip well which makes it hard to keep help. I will truly miss this gem of a restaurant! Was there for the final time last evening.

Great experience, wonderful food. Our server, Arielle was quite personable and on target with her recommendations. There were six of us, we tried the escargot, Scottish Salmon, sea bass, hamburger and the beet and shiitake mushroom risotto; ending with Chocolate lava cake, apple crisp and caramel tiramisu. This is the best dinner I’ve had since moving to Sarasota 7 years ago. The food is meticulously prepared , absolutely delicious and wonderful atmosphere. Tried 4 different entrees, all of the sides and salads and each spectacular. Can’t wait to return next month

Great restaurant, you need reservations. I had the best Osso Buco ever there. Great waitstaff made our evening a lot of fun. Deserts are to die for, I had tiramisu and friends had chocolate sorbet You will be glad you tried this place

We are saddened that our beloved restaurant has chosen to close and move on to a new chapter in their lives. We will truly miss it. Wishing them God's blessings and safe travels.
