To start, the Maître d' informed us that the reservation I made through Open Table was no longer valid since he had canceled their service over a year ago. He then proceeded to complain about Open Table being a scam. Luckily, there was a table available, but it took over 45 minutes for us to place our order, and two of their house specialties were unavailable. When our food finally arrived—well over an hour after we were seated—my dish, the sauerbraten, was dry and tasteless, making it inedible. On the other hand, my wife enjoyed her salmon, which she said was very good. We went to celebrate my Dad’s 90th birthday. Our family has Czech heritage, and my parents have been to Prague several times. I wasn’t able to take him back to the homeland for his milestone, but having him visit me in Chicago for a few days was the next best thing. Our server treated him like a rockstar. We got a free round of Becherovka shots with our apple streudel dessert, and they brought it out with a giant birthday candle and the Happy Birthday song playing. He was delighted! Our meal of traditional roast duck, sauerkraut and bread dumplings was spot-on — just like my grandmothers used to make! Thank you for a beautiful, memorable evening neither my Dad nor I will forget!

What a fantastic experience! The meal was on par with some of the best I've had in Prague. We ordered the svickova and the beef goulash, and both were amazing. The bread dumplings were among the best I've ever tasted (I hear they sell them by the loaf too). Along with the wonderful food, the service was top-notch and very friendly. Our waitress truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time.

Like another review from May 2023, we arrived for our reservation only to discover that the restaurant was hosting a private event and was not prepared for us. Cafe Prague, please consider blocking off nights when you're holding private events or remove your listing from OpenTable. We were really looking forward to our visit but had to go elsewhere instead. A fun time. Food and service are Great. Went on a Saturday night. At least two big birthday parties. D.J. and dancing started around 8. Not sure if a typical Saturday, but if looking for a fun party and great food, check out Cafe Prague.

The food remains delicious, but I'm puzzled by the lack of gravy with the bread dumplings. Also, there wasn't any ice cream or cake offered for the birthday celebration? The service was really slow as well.

The food was excellent, and the prices were quite reasonable. The service was prompt, and the atmosphere during lunch was peaceful and calm. I really enjoyed it; there was a relaxed vibe that I appreciated.

Wow! What an amazing restaurant. We were in search of a Polish dining experience, and this spot came up. Although we had never tried Czech cuisine before, we’re so glad we decided to give it a shot! Reserva una mesa ahora

Love this place, food is excellent and delicious, bartenders are always nice kind and fun, was my bday and they make me desert with sparkler for free, was super nice and i love it

I felt transported back to Eastern Europe. The service was outstanding, and the beer and food truly reminded me of being in Europe again.
