An amazingly quirky, uniquely decorated wonderful place. Our sons counted the wine bottles over 3300 incredible! Service in the restaurant was impeccable. The Gentleman is definitely in the right job and very good at his job. Good food with options for veggies and vegans offered. We visited on a Thursday and accessed the 2 4 1 offer on the burgers which was a real bonus. Would highly recommend if you are after something different from the chains offer and want to feel like your in Europe for the evening! Thanks for looking after us.
Although the setting was lovely my trip was ruined by the face the person serving behind the bar (who it turned out was the owner) was clearly was off his face of some kind of drugs, he couldn't operate the till and was rude to customers, it ruined what was a nice day out on my only day off this week and I don't think I'll ever go back, I hope there is new management if he is the owner
If we hadn't been informed about this restaurant, we probably wouldn't have given it a chance. The building itself is quite unique, although some may find it strange. However, the food was somewhat disappointing, similar to the City itself. We were one of the few customers at lunchtime, which makes one question its future sustainability.
We went for lunch and were immediately seated by a friendly waitress. We ordered cod and chips as well as a pie and chips, both of which arrived at our table within 15 to 20 minutes and were delicious. The only downside was that the coffee was instant and not very good.

I was tired after a long day and the staff were really friendly and inviting. Nothing was too much trouble. The beer was excellent and I had a really great steak. I bet the live music nights are good. Well worth checking this one out.
Visited after recommendation from family member. What a great pub. Real atmosphere and very quirky. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. It was a great way to spend some time. Definitely worth a visit, a real gem
We always seem to end up in the Rene when we are in Gloucester. A really nice pub with friendly staff. Excellent food with perfectly cooked steaks. The liver and onions is to be recommended too.

Their Sunday lunches are amazing and their burgers are famous. It is the top pub in Gloucester without a doubt.
Another beautiful steak meal, tender full of flavour lovely dressing on the side salad with crisp cooked chips
