"We liked this little café, which is right next to the town hall. They had many Swabian dishes, including homemade corn bags (like Ravioli). We had a nice lunch, went around the city and went back in the afternoon for one of their homemade cakes and coffee-yum! Very friendly and efficient, English-speaking staff."

Lunch stopped and was confused as you ordered, as everything was in German - no English. Our server was particularly helpful and patient in the translation and explanation of the various dishes and board specialties. I had the crepe with spinach and cheese, while my wife ordered the roast beef stew with fried potatoes and salad. Both were delicious, large in portion size, beautifully spiced and were consumed in their entirety!! The local beers (drums) were very good. It's nice that we stopped when we enjoyed the meal, and the conversation with the two women who shared the table with us.

We went there on a cloudy and colder day, so outdoor seats were not possible, which will be great in the summer. The interior is clean and modern, so are the toilets. They offer a selection of coffees and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Homemade (or local) specialties include mouthbags that are a kind of stuffed ravioli. Service was friendly and professional. Although I can't report and mistakes otherwise I wasn't overly excited...

Didn't remember the Emil well, but we still tried it again. Place full and loud, but we found a table. Ordered breakfast, service inconspicuous and unfriendly. Coffee was simply thrown on the table without a word and after waiting for some time we asked where our breakfast was... well... forget. The unfriendly service paired with forgetting our ordered ruins our Sunday morning well enough. Thank you very much, we will not be back.

I ate here with local friends in August 2012 and ate the schnitzel it was good (although not as good as another restaurant outside Stuttgart I have also reviewed). Varied menu, good drink choices. We sat inside as it was a hot day although it cooled off considerably by the time we left. Seating on the square is good for watching the local happenings.
