Cafe Rustica - Reservar una mesa

I live around the corner from this place and I frequently pop in to grab a coffee or a bite to eat. I usually get things to-go but sometimes I'll have a seat and enjoy it there. The owner and staff members are always friendly and fast. The food is great. This place is right on a bike lane, a few minutes' walk from a BlueBikes station and the Porter Square MBTA station. In the summer, they have outdoor seating in a tranquil little courtyard-type space behind the cafe, in a leafy space between several buildings. This is a nice cafe and a great part of the local neighborhood.

We wanted to eat outside but there was only one small table. The same table was inside but we were told we couldn't bring it outside maybe this was a new Cambridge Covid rule not sure. We crowded around one of two indoor tables. Even though we were eating there, everything was served in take out containers, which also may have been due to Covid. I ordered a tuna salad without onion and received some salad greens with some plain canned tuna on top. I've never heard of such a thing. My mom had some other bad salad.

Besides just stopping by for a late afternoon snack and to rest my weary feet as I had been traveling all day -I rested in a homey cafe filled with books to browse and old post cards from travelers to read. In a mindless moment with a sack and bags to carry I left my purse there. When I returned today it was still there intact. The staff wouldn’t even consider a financial token of my appreciation. These are good, honest and hard working people. Support them. Thank you Rustica! Laurie

Going over some old pics to delete on my computer I came across some I took of my lunch a couple of years ago at Cafe Rustica. The pics brought back the wonderful memory of that lunch, the great service, great tasting food and of the time my son lived about 3 blocks from there. All I can say is I miss going there and wish he still lived in Boston. SO go there now, have a great sandwich for me and enjoy the fact that you have one great place in your area.

I love going there because it has this friendly neighborhood feel, people are lovely, and it's a nice spot to sit for a little while. (Outside in summer. The food is nice, the coffee is nice, nothing special I'm just glad a place like this exists and is nearby.
