I was seated promptly and the server greeted me warmly, taking my coat with care. The meal was incredible. I began with a green olive tapenade, followed by salmon served in a delightful lemon butter sauce, accompanied by potatoes and garlic spinach. I ended my meal with a lovely cup of coffee and a rich molten chocolate cake. It was an excellent experience overall.
I chose Cafe Soleil for Valentine’s Day because it always seemed nice from the sidewalk and it had seats available on OpenTable. I chose poorly. The food was fine, but dull, and the service was friendly but haphazard. Our seat by the window was so cold we went elsewhere for dessert. Maybe I’ll sit at the bar for lunch, but I won’t eat dinner there again.
My friends helped me celebrate my birthday at this restaurant last year, and it was truly special. I can't wait to return as soon as I'm back in the city. It's a charming little French bistro located near the White House!
