I so wish I could give Caffiend five stars. As it is I'm being generous and giving it three. Without a doubt Caffiend offer some of the best cafe food in Cairns. Innovative, delicious. I've visited several times over a couple of years ever hopeful that the penny might drop and the music, at the very least, could be given as much attention as the menu. As with most cafes these days the emphasis seems to be on minimalist/industrial-hip. Concrete concrete so the acoustics amplify everything. Everything! Then on top of this the choice of music - inane and jittery - are two words that come to mind. This really impacts on my enjoyment of the food. Such a shame. I can't leave fast enough and cancel...
Second day in Cairns looking for somethingnoutside the hotel, turned to tripadvisor for advice. Were looking for best coffee and best breakfast in Cairns and Caffiend came up at number 4. Id have them at number 1. Coffees were superb, all breakfasts were delicious. The Chilli Eggs were as good as they were reported to be, fantastic. Wife had the mushrooms and they were equally impressive. And quotes from the kids, "best breakfast ever" and "can we come here everyday". All topped off with happy and interested staff. Well done Caffiend. Highly recommended. Thanks.
We had dinner at the restaurant recently. The owner was helpful and suggested a selection of dishes to share. The food was delicious and interesting based on the best local ingredients available at the time. The wine list is unique, offering mostly wines from boutique organic wineries in Australia and abroad. The service was excellent. We loved the atmosphere and as expected was perfect with nice music playing on the background. The place has a modern fresh feeling. Try dinner and you will have a very good surprise.
Very busy cafe but luckily they were able to find a seat at the counter for 4 of us. I enjoyed my skinny flat white, husband said his cappuccino was ok, but all our breakfasts were absolutely delicious. I had Japanese scrambled eggs while the others had burgers and we loved everything we had. Presentation great too. One of my best brunches ever.

A very busy cafe with great food and great coffee. This business is also connected to the Tattooed Sailor who are the roasters of their coffee beans. With these two businesses in partnership can only provide a win win situation for Caffiend and their customers. Caffeine is located at 72 Grafton Street Cairns city.
We went for coffee one morning. We were so impressed that we decided to go back for breakfast another day. The chilli eggs with avocado and bacon were great. I loved my almond milk coconut latte!
Go here. Nuff said. They have an eclectic lunch menu, really friendly and informative baristas/wait staff, and an ambiance that reminds you of a Melbourne cafe (this is a good thing!).
Coffee still great. The food is ok. However the service is terrible attitude by the experienced waitress and waiter and the in experienced one didn't even bring out cutlery.
