Can not believe I’ve been coming to the Lake George area and didn’t know about this place until my last visit. We had the most wonderful food and service experience. We sat at the bar because we did not make a reservation. Karina, the bartender, was so attentive and helpful making suggestions as we wanted to be sure to order the best dishes. My husband had the queen cut prime rib and said it was divine. The portion was huge. Friends ordered salmon. The early bird menu is a great way to try a few different things from the menu and such a great value! Can’t say enough about this LG establishment other than we will be back every time we head upstate.
We just visited Caldwell House for the first time tonight, and I can assure you, it will not be our last. Jems like this are a great asset to a tourist area like Lake George. It was a great value, a cozy, relaxing non rushed atmosphere, and positively top notch food! The prime rib was to die for, and the shrimp scampi was a huge hit with the kids. The early bird specials include dessert, and the bread pudding, and strawberry shortcake were fantastic. So so glad we stopped here on our last night in LG. We can't wait to visit again, and the Caldwell House will be one of our first stops when we do!
Our service and food were totally fine. Steak was very tasty and so were the sides. Our server was awesome, forget her name but she was great about coming by even though it was a busy night. The setting is just so... dated? I can tell they're going for a theme but it could use some cleaning up. There are ways to make you feel you're at a rural steakhouse without it feeling like someone's shed. I have to imagine an establishment like this rakes in money being in a touristy location. Spend some of it, it could go a long way.
We visited for an impromptu birthday dinner for my much older sister. As it was impromptu,we did not have reservations. The hostess stated that we could not be seated. Nikia,who turned out to be our server was privy to the conversation and looked at the book with the hostess. They decided we could be seated as long as we were done in two hours. Okay, a deal is a deal. The early bird specials can't be beat. Salad,entree and a dessert. Reservations next time for sure. Thanks Nikia! who by the way was a great server.

My family and I dined here the other night after not having been for over a year, and we were not disappointed. Our table ordered prime rib, chicken piccata, a brownie sundae, and the chocolate cake. Everything was delicious. I wish I had thought to take photos of our meals. The small cut of prime rib is a large 12oz cut and cooked to perfection. The chicken piccata came with 4 nice size pieces of chicken and a delicious cream sauce. The desserts were also great. Highly recommend stopping in here!
I was not pleased with paying over $70 for just one stuffed lobster tail. Despite having reservations for 5 people, the restaurant completely forgot one of our entrees (fillet) and it didn't arrive at our table until 6:25. No accommodations were offered. There are definitely better dining options available.
The menu at this restaurant is fantastic with delicious food. It was a challenge to decide what to order because everything sounded so good. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is very attentive. I would highly recommend dining here.
The restaurant consistently serves delicious food with generous portions. You definitely won't leave feeling hungry!

The food is so yummy. Service was great. You have to make reservations in advance or you will not get a table.
Amazing every time. This place does not ever disappoint. The Martinis are also spectacular.
