The food was excellent and packed with flavor. You can tell how good a kitchen is by how they prepare their whole fish, and the Bronzino I ordered was perfectly crisp on the skin while remaining juicy and fresh, with a flavor reminiscent of the pristine waters of Greece (as Anthony mentioned, this is the one fish he imports). It was simply delightful! Next time, I’d appreciate having chopsticks on hand, Anthony, since they make eating fish easier. The side of broccoli rabe was also well-prepared, and the mixed seafood grill we tried was incredibly tasty. The grilled octopus appetizer was a nice touch as well. We definitely could have ordered less food for the two of us—it was quite a genero...
I’d give this restaurant 5 stars for both the food and the service. The fried seafood platter might deserve only about 3.5 stars for value, as it felt a bit pricey for the amount of food, but I have to say it was simply *excellent*. The calamari accompanied by Fra Diavolo sauce was outstanding—tender, fresh, well-seasoned, and the sauce had a nice kick to it. The portion of calamari was generous. The fried seafood platter was absolutely delicious, but I was a bit disappointed with the quantity. It included two impressive, large shrimp, one fantastic scallop, and two small but very tasty pieces of breaded fried fish (breaded, not battered). Everything we tried was fantastic, even the coleslaw...
We were looking for a new restaurant for dinner this past Saturday and stumbled upon Caldwell seafood market. Was a good choice. Friendly staff n a small gem on Bloomfield Ave. we had the bang bang shrimp and beets and buratta as appetizer. Shrimp was tasty n the beets n buratta had greens, strawberry, mango n a tasty dressing. For entrees we had the pan roasted grouper special in special sauce w mashed potatoes n julienned vegs and red snapper. Both were delicious. Generous Portions n had leftovers to bring home. To top it off we shared a chocolate hazelnut mousse which was to die for. Will certainly stop by another time. R Thank u Caldwell seafood market for a great dinner.
Anthony has created a enduring menu with some of the best fish chips in the area his specials are creative especially the beet and burrata salad which is large enough for two to share when in season i throughly enjoy the soft shell crabs scampi style and his snapper livornese is the perfect combination of ingredients you also have the option of raw bar here too for those that indulge in oysters you can't go wrong with any menu item here Reserva una mesa ahora
Well, let me tell you, Caldwell seafood is absolutely amazing! From the moment I tried it, I was blown away by its exceptional quality and performance. The flavors are so rich and delicious, and the texture is just perfect. Plus, the packaging is super stylish and eye-catching. I highly recommend Caldwell Seedood to anyone looking for a top-notch experience. It's definitely worth every penny!
Best kept secret in Verona/Montclair area. Have been there for lunch only so can't comment on dinner. Prices are great as is quality and service. For lunch we had Manhattan and New England clam chowder, Caesar salad, linguini with red clam sauce, spicy shrimp and pasta and lobster salad. Delicious and fresh! Portions were more than generous. Cannot wait to return!
Four of us had an outstanding seafood dinner. Oysters on the half-shell were exquisite. Delicious lobster roll. Excellent coconut prawns, crab cakes Cajun-style red snapper. Great coleslaw and best fries I've had in ages. All at an extremely reasonable price, too. This place is a real keeper.
