We decided to stop by on a Sunday afternoon and were left with mixed feelings. Mall parking can be very tough, but sometimes you do just get lucky. The restaurant is on the Gridley side of the mall, facing away from the freeway, directly next to Lazy Dog Cafe, and behind the Chick Fil A. Hope this helps you figure out where to go find parking if this is your first time here. When we entered, we were greeted right away and after a moment's wait, we were led to an available booth. It didn't look that busy from the outside, but almost all booths and tables were filled. The restaurant does have it's own restrooms, big plus in my book! The booth chairs do not move, but the tables do. Do with that as you may. The restaurant is COLD. Bring a sweater or jacket if you're sensitive. It felt like we were an inconvenience to the servers the entire time. Trying to flag one down to get refills felt like a chore, and when we managed to get one's attention, there was that brief look of frustration and annoyance teens express when whining about something unfair, then the plastic smile came out. This was not isolated to any single person there, it felt like it was spread almost equally amongst all the front staff. We had ordered the special on the back of the menu, asking for that to come before the other entrees we ordered, but we received our entrees, then had to wait for the server to come back to ask where the pizza/salad was. We saw her walk over to the bar and saw her bring the order that had been sitting there for an entire 15 minutes at the least. I did report to another server that there appeared to be leaking water out of the ceiling light above the urinal in the men's restroom, but i didn't see any urgency or rush to analyze the situation. Foodwise: The pizza was cold, but still tasted good, and the thai crunch salad had good taste, but was simply mediocre, nothing made it stand out. The bread was nice and crunchy, but got chewy fast because of the cold. The cucumber reviver was a refreshing drink, i did enjoy the tart kicks. The chicken piccata was definitely not a taste we liked...i compared it to licking soap. On the other hand, their chicken tequila fettucine was amazing! The burst of flavor, the noodle texture, delicious, like chicken fajitas and fettucine eloped and this was the end result! The butter cake was for dessert. The price is well worth it! There is an extra charge for ice cream, but trust me, do it. The cake is hot inside and out, but the coldness of the ice cream helps to balance it out, and ease the sweet kick. While not the best butter cake we've had, this ranks close to the top.
