If I could be friends with a cafe, this would be it.Calusa has a great chill home-y vibe with kind owners cultivating relationships with regular customers. This place is great for the serious coffee aficionado.The atmosphere reminds me of the Broward I grew up with when there were still more trees, less apartments and more cows around.There is plenty of shaded outdoor seating and cozy indoor seating. If indoors, you get to see where they roast their coffee.The food and coffee menu isn't extensive: it's a no-frills place that's serious about the coffee quality instead of making unicorn double-stuffed popping pearl lattes. I had Calusa coffee today and it changed my life, truly the BEST coffee I’ve ever had! It’s a cup of coffee that lets coffee be… coffee! It’s the first time I’ve had coffee where I was able to taste the notes of all the flavors the bean has. There was no burnt flavor, which unfortunately, I’ve found to be very common at many cafes. Plus, the cafe is owned by a beautiful couple, Luis Maria, who are super personable, and from the short time that I was in the cafe I noticed they have many repeat customers, whom they know on a personal level. This is a fantastic spot for coffee! The owner is extremely friendly. They offer a variety of non-dairy milk options, including oat and almond milk. Their vanilla, mocha, and house-made caramel flavors and syrups are all vegan. Be sure to try their delicious banana bread and amazing vegan empanadas, which come in chicken and chorizo flavors. The pastries tend to sell out quickly, so it's best to arrive early if you want to grab some. This is an update from my previous review on July 8, 2023.

This place is absolutely fantastic. Every coffee blend I've sampled has been excellent. Luis is always patient and eager to share his expertise, no matter what you ask him. You can really feel their passion for what they do. One sign of their success is the joy on their clients' faces when they come back to see Luis and his wife. It's possible they have the best cappuccino in Florida. This is coming from a Berkeley California coffee aficionado. Great tea too. They use quality beans which they roast onsite. Both the pour over and vegan banana walnut bread were outstanding. If you are a coffee lover this is the spot for you. It’s next-level quality coffee. The service was great and the back patio is a relaxing spot to enjoy a cup. I’ll be back :)Food: 5/5

All the coffee is outstanding, with a great selection of single origin beans. The cold brew is truly invigorating, while the espresso is simply delightful. If you're looking to indulge, the iced latte with house-made caramel is absolutely heavenly.

Wonderful little coffee shop! Luis is extremely friendly and has a great sense of humor. He makes absolutely amazing coffee. I would rate it 11 out of 10!

Awesome cup of coffee. Very tasty and really smooth. Locally owned and operated with the beans roasted on site.
