I've been coming to this restaurant for years, but tonight was thoroughly embarrassing food presentation. Ordered the Bacalhau a Gomes Sa and not only was it not traditionally made, but it was thrown together with left over ingredients. Sadly the Portuguese traditional food I used to love so much has fallen short here, time and time again. Apparently it seems they have replaced the Portuguese chef with cheaper labor that aren't even Portuguese!! For those who post on here that the food is good, it is, but most of you have NO IDEA what traditional Portuguese food is because you've never been to Portugal! The staff is always attentive, especially the hostess Lara, but the kitchen needs an over...
Last year, I came with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and we had a pleasant dinner. Today, I came to celebrate my birthday with my family and we waited an hour to get our meal. Waiter came said our entrees would be a little late because he didn't get the order in the kitchen and they had a party going on. We told waiter we were celebrating my birthday. I didn't care for the stuffed shrimp; too much stuffing. Waiter after dinner came to offer one free dessert or after dinner drink for $180 bill for a party of 4. Really should have taken off one of the entrees off the bill.
Friends bought me a gift certificate for my birthday they would not honor it. They said it has to be a card but all they got was a paper certificate for $100 so Anna either pocketed the money or forgot to give them a card, so my friends paid $100 for nothing. Very disappointing. Spoke to the manager who has seen us there many times before but refused to honor the certificate. They lost a lot of customers since we will not go there anymore or my family friends. Please be careful make sure you get a card and not a certificate!
When we finally received our dinners, the quality was subpar. The rice was hard and undercooked, the vegetables were cold, and my entree of codfish with onions and peppers had pin bones left in it, posing a choking hazard. On a positive note, the Portuguese sausage and the chicken in garlic sauce were decent, but that's about where the compliments end. Additionally, I found the hostess's attire to be unprofessional; she seemed dressed as if she was just hanging out with friends. I won't be returning to this restaurant. Reserva una mesa ahora
Called for reservation and received an e mail confirmationWhen our party of 6 arrived they had no record of our reservationOur written proof meant nothing as they had no available tablesThe manager didn’t care and shrugged his shoulders and did absolutely nothing but make excuses. They did not disappoint… again…!! We were greeted by lovely Lara , she accommodated us with a HIGH TOP at the bar area.. on a bustling Saturday at 5:30 pm. The waiters and Ana couldn’t do enough for us.. our ginger ale was never empty.. food was on time piping hot and delicious! A must if you want authentic Portuguese food ??
My last time there I ordered steak for my friend it was so over done that she couldn’t cut it I had to cut it for her, after I called the waiter he told her I’ll bring you a fillet mignon and he did for a much higher price with out letting me know about price increase . Place is clean, the food needs ?
