Canby Asparagus Farm Casa De Tamales

We were here over Mother’s Day weekend. We sat outside and ordered a round of waters and a couple lime aids. We did not recieved the beverages till about 45 min after we ordered them, even after we reminded them kindly TWICE that we were waiting. When we did get the limeaids, they were very watered down. At one point, the server (an older gentleman probably in his 50’s or 60’s) brought over a pitcher of water with no glasses. He said he would be back with the waters and I started to say “you know if you just wanted to bring some empty glasses we can pour them ourselves” but before I got the sentence out, the server rudely and sternly said “MA’AM I TOLD YOU IM GETTING YOUR DRINKS NOW”. Had wanted to stop by and try for years. Was very disappointed. Food was average. 5 tables but really only two. Middle table full of stuff (he owns a junk shop next door and it appears to have spilled over). One table was half full of stuff, maybe for sale? Owner sat at another table, eating, watching his computer, and yelling at his kitchen staff. Large table was occupied, so we sat at remaing table even though there was a pitcher of water. The owner came over and removed pitcher, but didn 't wipe off table. Floor was filthy and the giant Headless Santa in the middle of the room just collects dust. I highly discourage anyone from dining at this establishment! If you enjoy being treated poorly and dealing with inconvenient parking, by all means, go ahead. There should be an option for zero stars! To the disrespectful owner: please do not reach out to me here; I’m not interested in hearing your excuses. It’s too late for you to claim that you’ll make improvements. You should have apologized when we were there; now it’s a case of too little, too late.

I can't say enough good things about my experience here. The food was delicious. The owners were great and we laughed a lot. Entering the restaurant, you don't feel like you are in the city. I was transported to a little place in Mexico.

The farmer Charlie runs this restaurant, grows his own asparagus in Canby and has this restaurant in Milwaukee what he seems to operate after April when they're harvested.

They have no sense of time. Apparently I was picking up an order was told five minutes then was told five minutes and now I’m told I don’t know when.

If you're looking for tamales this is the place. They have over 30 different tamales. So far I have tried 10 and all of them were great.

The staff were quite rude and the service was poor, resulting in a very disappointing experience.
