So I take NJ Transit bus to my new job, this bus runs down Hackensack St and passes Paterson Ave. When I arrived home, I told my wife all about this big and gorgeously decorated (in a Christmas theme) diner called Candlewyck. So we decided to go check it out. This diner has 2 ample parking lots, the main lot is right next to the diner, one across Paterson Ave. The front façade is beautifully decorated with Christmas lights ornaments, and once you step inside you will experience more Christmas decorations and lights that'll put a wide smile on your face. My friend recommended me for breakfast. When my family arrived at the diner, the parking lot was almost complete. Also, the lines are narrow, so it wasn't easy to open doors without hitting neighboring cars' doors. I understand that it locates in a kind of busy place, so I didn?t mind much. The amount of different foods on their menu is insane. It?s sad that we came around closing time and couldn?t try everything we wanted to, but when we say the menu our eyes grew due to the amount of pages just with all the food they have. The amount offood they give is perfect. The scenery is also perfect. And the desert, perfect. They have a large variety of different types ofdessert and they all look delicious. I tried one of their cake desserts and it was extremely tasty. They make each plate of foodpresentable and clearly care about their customers. Each customer that walked in walked out with a smile on their face.

Ends to stay up close for work and found me enjoying the food and service so much in the first night I brought a few colleagues to dinner next night. So we went Saturday and Sunday evenings. The service was excellent, the food was excellent. Whether it was the pan-seared scallops with risotto or the prime rib or the salmon, I thought it was all great value for the money and would not hesitate to come back. Had the owner who started the place almost 50 years ago. Far above my expectations for what most people would think if you told Diner. Friendly staff, good food and beautiful atmosphere. What could you want more?
Add to your list of Diners you need to stop. Your menu was like a novel full of amazing meals. Do not forget to bring the children, they had a fun laminated menu with child-friendly opinions and of course you can not forget the gigantic desert case full of cakes, cookies and more. Our family loved everything about this place and even left comfortably full.
We visited during peak hours and experienced a short wait, which was completely understandable. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The service was excellent, and the food was even better! I've been there several times and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended!
Really loved the vibe of the place, came across as a fancy diner. There was a short waiting time before we were seated. The food portions were huge. Vegetarian options were slightly limited. The black bean patty seemed fresh and the hot chocolate was a quite a nice treat too!

So! This place was one of the best divers I was! The service, the food, the environment was all so amazing. Our server was top notch and made the diner got a 4?. The food was great, but it could have been better! Food: 8.3/10 Service : 9.6/10 Environment : 9/10 Total: 9.1/10
The service was really great. Especially the older gentleman in front with the white hair he was the sweetest. The food wasn't so great. I had a chicken pesto panini and if I had no taste... at all. I was disappointed. I'd go back and let it go.
