My plans to walk the circuit of Le tour des Dents Blanches were scuppered by too much snow on the Col des Ottans, so we had to rethink our route. This meant we had to retrace our steps and ended up back in the hamlet of La Barme. What had initially been a frustration turned into a delight when we discovered the refuge and restaurant at the Cantine des Dents Blanche.Having turned up with no booking the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly - a lovely room was available and we were able to enjoy a tasty platter of local meats and cheeses served with chilled wine. Cadre magnifique, dommage que la restauration ne soit pas à la hauteur. Nous avons commande une assiette dents blanches qui était correcte!! Et deux saucisses de veau servis avec trois morceaux de carottes et courgettes pas assez cuites à notre goût et une petite cassolette de polente sans aucune valeur gustative. Très déçu par ce repas on s'attendait à beaucoup mieux. De plus nous avons règle en euros le change à la cantine n'existe pas 1 euros égal 1 franc suisse. Pas très correcte!!!
we stopped at the end of our little hikes through this restaurant. I ate a delicious penne gratin, with a mixture of cheese that made the dish a great surprise. also the quality of the specks used was perfect. as dessert, a delicious chocolate sun. this is a place to visit again. prices are the same as in the rest of the region.

We were there for a lunch... The atmospher is looking like a old chalet. So delicious kitchen with the friendly boss Jo in the kitchen. We were tasting gnocchi with vegetables and mushrooms... With delicious swiss wines. A nice place to discover
Nous avions opté pour les tranches au fromage que nous n'avons pas trop apprécié beaucoup trop sèches et servies tièdes. À revoir absolument la recette, par exemple en ajoutant une petite giclée de fendant juste avant de terminer la cuisson.
Sur la terrasse de la cantine des Dents Blanches, on est dans la carte postale ! Cadre magnifique , jolie carte de mets de montagne et accueil chaleureux , c'est ma cantine préférée de la région .
First of all, don't drive, walk there! That way you will have enough room in your belly for the huge delicious food on offer. The local sausages are highly recommended.
