I ordered a meal from Captain Jay's Fish Chicken through UberEats, but the app didn’t allow me to choose which cheesecake I wanted. I called the restaurant to politely request the strawberry cheesecake. Unfortunately, the person on the phone responded rudely with just an “okay.” When I tried to give them my order details, they abruptly cut me off, saying “I know which one it is,” and then hung up. When my order arrived, my drink was missing, which was disappointing. To make matters worse, when I opened the cheesecake from their menu, I found mold on it! The phone interaction was unpleasant, and the quality of the food was unacceptable. I definitely won’t be ordering from Captain Jay's Fish C...
I ordered food from Captain Jay's Fish Chicken and found it to be fried far too crispy. Although the ingredients were fresh, everything was overcooked to the point of resembling potato chips. I prefer my food cooked thoroughly, but not burnt. The only item I enjoyed was the okra, which was also quite crunchy. It would be much better if they could remove the meat from the fryer a minute or two earlier. Additionally, it was disappointing that they don’t correct incorrect orders when mistakes occur.
This restaurant truly deserves high praise. The biscuits are incredible, and the food is tasty without being greasy. The fries are cooked to perfection, although they could benefit from a little extra seasoning. A big shoutout to the front-of-house staff for their great service! Jay's in Oak Park and Lodge now has some competition, as this place is undoubtedly the cleanest around.
I had an unfortunate experience with my order at this restaurant. After expressing my concerns over the phone, they encouraged me to bring it back in. When I arrived and shared my dissatisfaction, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, sincerely apologizing for the inconvenience. They quickly resolved the issue, and I am now a loyal customer of this fast food place!
