Carmine's is by far one of the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The excitement of the restaurant itself whets your appetite before you even sit down and order authentic traditional Italian dishes cooked the Italian way, including pasta, lamb chops, veal, and New York style strip steak. The wine and drinks with live entertainment was incredible. On the way to O'Hare I wondered when we would meet again. But Sadly I just found out that they are now under reconstruction and will reopen in 15 months .But I am happy to be able to open a new page of memories for the future, while thinking fondly of the good old place filled with memories.
Arrived on time and seated. Waited mins for her to get our drink order. Another minutes to take entrees. Waited another mins to get our drinks and total of one hour before we got salads!!!!!! I would have blown up at mins but I had business guests and didnt want them to see me upset. Service was worse than horrible. NONEXISTENT!!!!!!!! Do yourself a favor. Go anywhere else and get your spaghetti a smaller place where the owner cares about their guests. Obvious all that Carmine's cares about is volume. Not service. We have been fans of Carmine's for many years but we will never go back!!!
Overall this place was average for downtown Chicago. The food was decent with good portion sizes. The layout of the restaurant is really weird as big as it is. The service was definitely subpar. We didn’t order drinks and we certainly paid the price. I hate when servers do this.Vegetarian options: YesParking: Valet is the best option
From the greeting through our entire service we were treated wonderfully. Food was tasty and enormous portions. There was a little confusion on wine selection so they comped us for it. Would highly recommend and look forward to coming again our next time in town

This is my first time dining at Carmine's and I will be back! We had a taste for good wine and good pasta and this did not disappoint. Jay, our server, was top-notch and provided us a quality dine-in experience. We cannot wait to come back in to dine!
We had a great dinner on Saturday evening. The veal, lamb chops, shrimp cocktail and pasta dishes were outstanding. The service was spot on. Carmineâs is a must visit and we will return soon!
Carmineâs is always extraordinary- very large menu, quality and the service is exceptional. I highly recommend Carmineâs for authentic Italian cusine.
