I come from Norway and live in Stavanger, and it's too bad we don't have any similar fish bar to this one there. Since we had a heavy Basque lunch (good) and pre-dinner drinks with 2 small tapas, we wanted a light dinner. Came across this tiny gem of a place run by a Danish lady. Delicious fish tapas dishes, with Nordic techniques (smoked shrimps, cured makrell). Highly recommended. Book in advance as it's a tiny bar. Natural and organic wine.
Caroe is a small restaurant on rue Gambetta with fresh and good sea dishes. There are few good options, salmon is very good while we found the octopus with capers was a little too much. Desert was typical Danish and very good. Service was really good and nice with a typical blonde Danish style waitress. Price is slightly over the average but you are eating fish.. Nice option with fresh dishes and good kitchen!
This was my first FISH BAR experience and it was a positive one indeed.We really enjoyed sharing the dishes and there is a great wine list too of interesting small producer organic wines, just what I like. The owner is so friendly and passionate. For an alternative dining experience with a Nordic flair you gotta try this place. There’s more to a fish bar than just sushi!
Loved everything about this place. It's a must-visit.The service was really good. The food and beverages marvelous.The food is alike tapas or pintxos, but bigger sizes. Went there on a Sunday for their brunch, and OMG! That was excellent. It's sort of a Danish place but the brunch was something special. We are from Sweden so we thought it was a bit funny to visit when we know this food culture. I have nothing to complain about and would definitely recommend everyone to visit Caroe!
I love this small Danish restaurant on one of the main drags in Biarritz. Service is always friendly and nice and the food is so interesting and different. Lots of great seafood dishes here. Get here early or late...it can get quite crammed and is not a large place. Some cool Scandi beers on the menu too.

Amazing fish dishes! Great and very friendly staff/owner. The best restaurant we went to in and around Biarritz. Will surely return. It is worth a trip to Biarritz just to go there.
