Casa Azul Kamloops

On our way passing through Kamloops, we decided to try mexican restaurant and Casa Azul came up in our google search with 4.4 rating. My experience doesn't confirm this rating. The quality of food and service for the price was poor. Our Fajita and quesadillas were both bland without any adequate seasoning. As a minimum they don't even leave salt and pepper on the tables for the people to add some taste to the bland food. Tortillas are served in a very cheap plastic container that looked to be made from heavily recycles junk plastic. Even the sides including salsa and guacamole were bland. Service was OK, ambiance was OK, other than that the food was atrocious. Bland and seemed to be leftovers from the day before. I ordered the Mexican tacos and they came with some sort of day old re-blanched French fries in them. The beef was bland, dry, non existent and cubed into tiny pieces. My Wife's quesadillas were no better, dry, flavorless, non existent chicken and zero sauce. One small bottle of Dos Equis beer was 9 dollars and a Mojito (which tasted like toothpaste) cost 11 dollars. We only had 1 drink each and 73 dollars later we left feeling disappointed and hungry. Stopped by on our road trip for a late lunch and got a table immediately. The spicy chicken tacos were really amazing and we had to repeat the order to enjoy more. The margaritas were delicious. The staff seemed pretty rushed and confused for some reason and we’re hurrying to clear up the table, didn’t offer water unless asked and forgot to grab glasses. The place wasn’t so busy but the ambience and food were spot on. Highly recommend this place.

This place is authentic and food average for Mexican. However, the hours open in the evenings are very unreliable. Good service when they are open, though they tend to close randomly early ... I think because of their success they are getting arrogant. Almost every time I bring Latin American out of town guests, they are clearly open but closing early.

Liesl was our server and she’s Adorable! Super helpful with menu recommendations with it being our first time at restaurant. Service was quick, efficient and very pleasant. Love all the authenticity from food to decor!The food was Amazing!

It was good! I thought the frozen mango margarita would be a bit more frozen but it was still a good margarita. The pastor taco was yummy but the meat was a little bit dry. The service and decor are really cute though!

We were looking for a light dinner, and although main meals are available we had a portion of Guacamole and Quesadillas, which tasted good and was ideal for what we were looking for

So tasty!! The tacos are generous portions and so good. The fajitas were sizzling and amazing! All with the lovely energy of the space and music. We’ll be back

Friendly staff, delicious food. Definitely worth a try. I asked for spicy sauce and it was spicy but also excellent flavor!!!! Very well done.

WOW...What a great little find while walking down the street in Kamloops. Highly recommend the chicken tacos and a mocktail.
