Casa De Oro - Reserva de mesa

I went to this restaurant for the first time on Saturday May 11 with my son and grandkids. All the food we ordered was delicious and the service was wonderful. I ordered the garlic shrimp and rice dish. I got a generous amount and it was very tasty. If I didn't live 2-1/2 hrs from Jefferson I'd be eating at this restaurant frequently. There were so many different food options that I think they have something for almost everyone. My son and grandson have celiac disease and there were plenty of options for them to choose from.

There are not many places to eat in this small town and this is the worst. Greesy floors, which you can easily silp and fall, disgusting ceiling tiles and when owner is gone to return to Mexico the service and cooking is much worse. They will not provide a bill and charge you whatever they like when you go to pay, depends on who is running the cash register. Can not believe the food inspectors and state have not shut this place down. Under the table dealings for this Mexican restaurant.

It's a family like atmosphere, the food is always phenomenal and the staff are great! Gil and Teresa are wonderful owner/operators. Update-01/6/2024- Still love this place! The owners are the coolest ppl, it's a wonderful atmosphere and the food it plenty and extremely hot n fresh!!! 4/11/2024- Gil and Teresa really have become like family to my family, knowing us each by name. LOVE everything about the restaurant and people.

Have been coming here for years and always a favorite. Today something was very different. My normal shrimp fajita favorite had a number of shrimp involved covered with piles of onion swimming in grease. Didn't feel like making a big deal till I got home tonight , started suffering from severe indigestion. The wife only ate a portion of her greasy looking debacle of food. The ground beef tasted like it had been scorched. Nice atmosphere, but could use a good cleaning. Fans and vents covered in heavy dust. I kept watching to make sure it didn't come down in my food.

Ordered take out. Liked the carne asada tacos the best out of what we tried. The order was correct and on time.

Small town place with great service. I look forward to eating there again the next time I'm in town.
