Two days prior , I booked a table for people for before a football match that was starting at I was told on the phone expect a minute wait for food, which is expected in a busy period , in my...experience of local hotels around Adelaide Oval. I arrived promptly and my reservation didnt exist'. I complimented the staff in finding me a table from a back room and setting this up in the dining room . We ordered something quick and easy to make two schnitzels . The drink service at this hotel is efficient and there are a great selection of beers on tap . The problem is the food. Our group of six gathered at the Cathedral Hotel in North Adelaide for an end of year dinner. The food is typical pub food and the serves are generous and well presented and the wine menu is good. The space upstairs is light and spacious...so you can engage with your friends without being cramped. Service is efficient and friendly. It's an easy walk from the Adelaide stadium and well worth goung there for an enjoyable meal. Downstairs offers a more cafe feel and serves coffees and cakes for a very reasonable price. Bookings are recommended.
Went to an early Fringe Festival Show at St Peter's Cathedral and we were quite peckish when the show finished. Crossed the road asked the staff at the Cathedral Hotel if we could get a meal. We were told that the kitchen closed but if we ordered now, they would keep it open for us. The of us were quickly seated and made our choices. Again there were plenty of gluten free choices for me. The food was delivered promptly was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Service also excellent. Thanks Cathedral Hotel, a real winner here.
Often drop in here before going to football Adelaide Oval. A good idea to book beforehand as is usually busy but always friendly and a good vibe. Also it has to be highlighted that they have the best schnitzels I have had. Much thicker than...usual but very tender. Haven't had a bad one yet. If not on match day perhaps drop in after a walk along the Torrens

The hotel is impressive both inside and out and has retained its historical facade that dates back to as the Scotch Thistle Hotel and changed to the Cathedral Hotel in The interior has been modernised and was impressive. One end of the hotel...is called the Good Samaritan Cafe and this was neat and bright and did good coffee.
The best wedges I've ever eaten the other meals were great except the salad was a little limp, but great service and beautiful hotel. With the convenience of a cafe on the side for lunches and full restaurant meals all inside the hotel a winner for sure.
Walking by at noon we decided to stop in. We went to the rooftop bar. Lunchtime menu is typical bar food so we chose the charcuterie platter. It was huge and delicious. Service was fine. Music from speakers, big screen TV's all typical bar features.
What a great venue, close to the footy as well. We had the beef hamburgers and they are some of the best we have had. The service was great and the prices very reasonable. It has been renovated and decorated beautifully.

After being told there was a half an hour wait for meals due to a concert (which was fine by us). The food came out within minutes of us ordered. Food was superb, staff were amazingly freindly and the beer was super cold
I was there with my family on a Saturday night before a game at Adelaide oval. Everything was great!! The staff, service and food all excellent! Thanks again guys
