Giving this place 4 stars because of service and food portion sizes for 10 people. I came here for my aunt's birthday and we had their king crab set menu. Food portion sizes were all pretty big. The taste of food is slightly above average. Peking duck wraps were a bit too rubbery and the almond cookies tasted stale and the birthday buns were too dry. Service was quite attentive and courteous and the food came quickly. Best part was that we were seated in the private room area where they have karaoke available so dinner was extra entertaining and I feel like I got my money's worth because they didn't kick us out right after we finished eating. This used to be my favorite spot for dim sum when I was a kid. Back then, they had servers pushing carts of food around and you could choose what you wanted directly from them. Now, they have undergone a modernization with higher prices. The quality has slightly improved, but I'm not sure it's worth the cost. Don't get me wrong, the food is still delicious, but the prices are a bit of a deterrent. I was particularly impressed with their steamed soup dumplings, they were perfectly made. We used to come prepandemic for cheap food, it was probably one of few remaining old style Chinese restaurants around. Food was average, but it was pretty filthy and outdated. They renovated and reopened during the pandemic, the dim sum is superb with lots of variety and new selections. Decor has been completed updated and much cleaner now. Prices have gone up but is on par with other restaurants.
We really enjoyed our dim sum experience at New Century. The plating, quality and portion sizes were impressive and the staff were very courteous and attentive. The prices were higher than the norm, but it felt worth it given the size, quality and freshness of the food served. It was a great experience and would definitely return again soon!
