My family and I had lunch at Cerveceria Santa Eulalia and were horribly treated by the waiter (a bald Caucasian man on his low 50s . We tried to order two “menus” of the day (at EUR 12 each and he rudely told us we couldn’t order only two. We had to order “four half menus”, which did not make any sense since we all wanted to order the same dishes for first and second plate. We assumed that meant the same thing, and after he yelled at us that was the only option, we accepted (we had already walked a long time to get there, but we should have left bad bad call! . The food was actually fine but the portions were even smaller than half, in fact he brought exactly two plates of each item, exactly what we asked, but we later noticed our portions were smaller than that of customers at the next table (but the price was more than half of the full menu at EUR 9.50 each “half” . We mentioned to him and he again said in Spanish “NO, they are the same. They are even measured and weighted”. My ok Spanish probably didn’t help but it was good enough for him to understand and realize he would mistreat tourists. It was unacceptable and not consistent with the other great experiences we had in Madrid, Salamanca and Sevilla during this trip. If you don’t want to be mistreated as a tourist, do NOT make the same mistake I made believing this decent review score and AVOID this place at all costs!!
