Cha-yen Food Truck

After searching the Food Truck Festival for something Refreshing we stumbled upon this place. A small truck mainly featuring 'bubble tea' and shaved ice. The menu is a little small and pretty generic looking but we decided to go with a Strawberry shaved ice Pink Paradise . Strawberry shaved ice, strawberries, strawberry syrup and boba balls. Thinking it was going to be very ordinary run of the mill shaved ice, we were pleasantly surprised. They literally shave this ice from a giant block on this neat spinning device, and hand make it start to finish. Adding the toppings sparingly, and precise to make it look as good as it tastes. It was extremely satisfying and most definitely 'refreshing'...

The customer service at this restaurant is terrible. The owners are not only rude but also seem completely clueless about how to interact with customers. My most recent experience was particularly strange when they claimed they needed to connect with my "energy source" because theirs was continuously fading. This level of unprofessionalism and rudeness is unacceptable.

I highly recommend trying Cha-Yen. You will not be disappointed. One of my favorites is the Purple Jam snow ice. You have got to try it. An amazing combination of flavours includes taro ice, mochi, and lychee. My other favorite is the Matcha Green Bubble Tea.
