It must be said that we had booked prior to an international England match so I'm not sure this is fully reflective of Chanterelle however, for £80 per head for a set menu (not disclosed at the time of booking although we were called by the owner prior to the date) is a ridculous amount to pay for a starter consisting of a few prawns, one piece of asparagus, some beans, an egg and Salmon-delivered within 3 mins of sitting down. For mains, 2 mins afer we finished starters, we all had stake (decent size and good sauce), side of potatoes. My girlfriend and I visited Chanterelle prior to the England France game. Be warned on six nations match day the restaurant does a set menu costing £40 per head. We were expecting a cheaper set menu but stayed regardless. The £40 price included literally EVERYTHING (bottled water, wine, starter, main, dessert, coffee) in as great a quantity as you'd like (we polished off a very nice bottle of Pinot Noir). All food was delicious, but I wasn't asked how i'd like my steak! It came medium.
Chanterelle in Twickenham TW1, for St. Valentines evening dinner I had sworn never to eat out on this, the bleakest night of the culinary year Chanterelle did, as every restaurant does, a set menu but it was good. Not up to their usual standards, but well presented, tasty food. We'll be back, but tonight I re affirm that I will skip Feb 14 dinners again in future! Good, if a bit cold beef welly, nice poulet bresse, pleasant glass of house fizz. Next time we'll eat better. I'm sure.
Chanterelle, Twickenham Just returned home after a meal for two at Chanterelle. My overall feeling is of disappointment. The whole meal was rushed. Within seconds of ordering, the starters were delivered, within seconds of finishing the starters, the mains arrived. Desserts were ordered and delivered equally fast. Waiters were putting on their coats while we paid our bill. The food itself was unexceptional. It was a rugby day, but it was well after the game.

Booked, but we should have been informed that there was only a set menu available due to the England Wales match. Despite that we were served well. My asparagus was good as was the chocolate torte. No complaints about the food. Well worth a visit, but perhaps not on international day.
Chanterelle keeps getting better the Ma Cuisine group is certainly working some magic here. Entrecôte cooked to pink perfection and a succulent veal chop with excellent veggies, good wine selection by the glass and discreet but engaged service. Can't wait to go back.
I've used this restaurant on a number of occassions and it's never failed to be superb, for value, food, service and ambience. On this occassion, hard to believe, but it was even better. My guests were delighted and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank you
Chanterelle 2 Whilton Road, Twickenham Great little spot for a high quality delicious pre-match rugby Lunch en-route to Quins. Perhaps just a little background french accordian/cafe music would set the mood to perfection?

They accepted our booking but were closed when we turned up. It was not clear to me whether they had gone out of business or where just closed on that evening. We went somewhere else. Disappointing experience.
Very nice food, easy environment and pleasant staff. Short menu means food is fresh and choice easier. Will return.
