We arrived for lunch on a Tuesday at 12:30. The restaurant was busy but not packed. We were seated right away on the patio and provided with water by the hostess, but then waited 20 minutes to have anyone speak to us. It was only after I went in to inquire that our server arrived to take our order, and then the food took ages to come. What was expected to be a 1 hour lunch took 2 hours. It was clear the restaurant was trying to adjust, with new staff members showing up to serve other tables, but the issue of our incredibly slow service was never directly addressed with us. Such a great evening. We were celebrating our nine year olds birthday, he loves food and cooking and this was such a wonderful experience. We’ve been to Charbar many times as a date night but this was the first time as a family outing. Our server was exceptional and really suggested great sharing items and made fun drinks for the kids. He treated our kids like adults which not all servers do. We will definitely be back! FYI we chose an early patio reservation (530). There was construction going on right beside the table so I did deduct stars from ambience but this is not the restaurants fault.
Event on top floor patio was not full or busy, let wait times for drink refills, being greeted, etc were quite long. Restaurant was decently staffed, but only two servers for the patio, the rest must have been upstairs. Would suggest coming on a weekday when events are not occupying the bulk of attention.
I personally felt my steak was over cooked for medium rare and I didn’t care for the puffed wild rice on the squash. The empanadas and butter hot sauce were amazing and we really enjoyed our cocktails. My husband loved his steak.

There was wedding reception going on upstairs so the noise was a little high. I didn’t mind. The service staff is exceptional and the food was phenomenal. The porter house is worth every penny.
Regular diner at Charbar. Food was good as always, but children running on floors over head ruined the experience and atmosphere part of a wedding reception.
Steak was great. Pricey place but very enjoyable. Tourists be careful outside the restaurant, street can get a little bit rough/dangerous
I love this place: the location, ambience, food and service are exceptional. It's my favourite place to eat a steak in all of Calgary.

Great use of a mattress factory! Good selection of wines, beers and nice mocktails.
Steak cooked incorrectly, fly served in drink, and incorrect sides brought out.
