We have eaten at Big A several times, and the food is always delicious. We also really enjoy the local wildlife photography that they display around the restaurant and offer for sale. Last weekend, we had our baby's first birthday party at the restaurant. Kathy, the manager, was very helpful and responsive to my many emails as we planned this party. We ended up doing a buffet for almost fifty people. We got to choose 3 entrees, two sides, and there was salad and bread. They gave us two large rooms for our party. For our main courses, we opted for the rib and shrimp combo, Penne a la Vodka, chicken Marsala, and chicken Francaise. The portions were ample. I had the chicken Marsala, which was surprisingly served over fettuccini. It was flavorful and included plenty of fresh mushrooms in a light tomato-brown gravy. I also sampled the chicken Francaise, which was served over pasta and was really delicious. The other two diners enjoyed their meals as well—there were no leftovers!

Today, while I was buying a car nearby, my son suggested we try this restaurant for lunch, despite the mixed reviews we had heard. I was pleasantly surprised by the attentive service, and our food arrived quickly and at the perfect temperature. I kept it simple with a burger, which was very enjoyable and cooked to perfection. The fries were hot and crispy. My son chose the sausage-stuffed mushrooms, which we shared and found to be delicious. He also had the French onion soup, which he liked a lot. All in all, it was a delightful lunch experience.
I attended a daytime celebration event at this venue , the ambiance was nice, I was able to observe the other dining rooms, they had a rustic country feel, cozy and welcoming. We did not have food off the menu but we did have a Italian style buffet for our event, the food was delicious and plentiful. Many of the guest did have to go to the bar if they wanted any alcoholic drinks. Definitely would recommend this venue if you want to have a sit down celebration.

Outstanding casual dining restaurant and bar. Great for celebrating special occasions and business meetings. Provides accommodations for large groups. They accept reservations and you can order pickup. Service is quick. Our waitress, Flow was extremely friendly and we enjoyed talking with her. Food menu offers a variety that all looks delicious. We were very satisfied with our meals from flavor, quality, quantity and price.
Lovely and interesting old building, houses a great restaurant! Staff very friendly. It was off season so it wasn't crowded but the food was cooked perfectly. You know you've found a great place when the side vegetable is fantastic. The steak and potato were fantastic too! Cooked perfectly! Dessert was the berry cobbler with ice cream. Yum!!!
The restaurant has a spacious layout and a charming country/mountain/farmhouse atmosphere. One end features a lively bar area that seems like the perfect place to unwind. I'm definitely planning to return to experience their happy hour. I highly recommend visiting Big A if you're in the area. I know I will be coming back!
Excellent place to stop for lunch this past Tuesday on our drive from New York back to our home in Virginia. The food was outstanding, and our server Paul was very attentive and customer service oriented. It was a very pleasant dining experience. We'll definitely stop again when traveling back to New York.

The atmosphere here was very rustic and vintage. Food was delicious! I had the shrimp and scallop scampi and it was delicious! Service was great too!
Was not friendly. Food over priced. Came 45 min before closing . Thay did not want us. Did not feel welcomed.
