I love Vietnamese food and frequently go to vietnamese restaurants wherever I go, within Australia or outside. We went to Saigon Express for dinner. We ordered Combination Laksa, Chicken with lemongrass rice and spicy beef Pho. Every single dish was excellent. The spicy beef Pho...can be compared with the best restaurants. We also ordered spicy chicken pack (5 pieces) which was also delicious. Price for every single dish was more than reasonable. You cannot believe the number of people who had to be turned back because of not having enough tables. The food justifies the long queue. We are planning on coming here for dinner tomorrow as well. That is how much we loved the food.
Had takeaway tonight and was a bit disappointing. The sweet and sour pork was quite tasty, the container was only half full. Having seen other comments on the huge sizes maybe was just a off day? Mongolian hot plate was also tasty as was the...fried rice. The Singapore noodles was bland, had no flavour to it and the braised beef noodle salad also lacked flavour. I have been eating at saigon express for years. the quality of food is always fresh. the authentic Vietnamese menu is extensive. they also have some Western dishes. tipp: the land huh is delicious and always available for a quick take! gluten-free is...available one. 7 days open. they also have a second caffe (O-grill,) a few doors away when they need more space for their group. I heard that they have saigon express also opened in kingston, but I did not try.

We have had Vietnamese pancakes in Saigon, which were incredible. Here in Hobart they were double the size, which was a bit unfortunate as you hardly could eat the full portion. We will share it in the future, as it was delicious, though just a...little bit too fatty. The service was great and we sure will be back.
coleslaw (goi) is elevated, super freshly healthy. charleroi keow has beautiful aromen, mixed vegetables in garlic sauce are crispy. the saigon express fried rice nasi goreng are both excellent. I'll go there whenever I'm in the neighborhood, as it's so fast. with so many customers per day, eating is always fresh.
we were so happy with our choice to eat here at lunchtime. service was excellent, restaurant was busy but efficient, railway mi especially was really delicious. we had so much better experience here than on another, higher rated vietnamesen on the same road. Many...selections, would like to go back
We wanted a cheap mid week meal out and this was just the ticket. The decor isn't great but the place was packed when we arrived so we knew the food would be good. We placed our order and within 10 minutes it was before...us. Absolutely delicious and generous portions too. Definitely recommendable.

We've been coming back here again and again for years. The best Singaporean in Hobart. I strongly recommend ordering the freshly cooked menu on the wall, always delicious.
