While our son was out hunting deer for the season, we decided to try a restaurant that we've been hearing great things about but hadn't visited yet. It was DELICIOUS! We have so much to share about this place! The owner, Karen, stopped by our table, and she was such a lovely lady! With nearly 48 years in business, she mentioned that her husband handled all the renovations, and she takes great pride in their unique decor. I'm very pleased with this place. I had a pizza that was wrong I've never had a place to make sure it was fixed right a way and with great service. I love the food and the employees are so nice. I dont mind making sure I leave a good tip, they earnit. I will absolutely recommend this resturant.
The food was served quickly and at the right temperature, but it was a bit greasier than I prefer. The onion rings were tasty, though they were greasy as well. Our service was excellent—very friendly. The prices were also reasonable.
This is my favorite restaurant! I've been coming here for years, and the food is incredible. The onion rings are to die for! I highly recommend it! I live in Boone, but I would drive all the way here just for dinner!

Once again, it was an amazing experience! The ribeye was a superb cut and cooked to perfection. The chicken was excellent as well, and the service was outstanding. I absolutely loved it!
I went to Checkerboard for a meal and ordered the grilled chicken breast dinner, asking for sautéed onions, mushrooms, and green peppers to go along with it.
The food was fantastic! I had the breaded pork fritter and onion rings, and they were incredible. I can't wait to return and try the Philly cheesesteak!
The staff is excellent and the pizza is fantastic. The blueberry wine is delightful. Our waitress, Kristen, provided wonderful service.
