Great neighborhood eatery and bar. This is Louisville’s own version of “Cheers”. Every neighborhood should have something this great to go to. Cheap drinks, awesome food and great atmosphere. The employees are awesome, bartenders they get to know you and your drink likes. Food staff are the hardest working crew I have ever seen. They get your orders to you hot and right.

The fish sandwich was a thick piece of fried fish, one of my favorite sandwiches in town. Other staples there are their great chili and the best bean soup in town. I also really like their pan fried oysters and their German potato salad. Thanks for being reasonably priced too. Too many good dishes for one or even two visits. Great staff.
This place never disappoints. The food is excellent, so is the service. They treat everyone that comes in like family. They even know some of the customers name. I would recommend Checks café to everyone.
Crazy that I've never heard of checks before my employees suggested it to lunch. it was very busy during lunch, but it didn't take long until we get ours.
