Came here awhile back looking for something wholesome in the neighborhood. Pulled up and it looked like a little house in the back. Out walks this little sweet lady who offered us menus, and also helped explain the menu. Of course the lady turned out to be Chef Winnie, who actually runs the spot all by herself. Pretty impressive!We ordered 2 different meat tibs and they were both pretty good. I forgot what sides we had, but the food was hot and fresh!I will be back with more feedback!
I tried this restaurant for the first time today, and it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the jackfruit awaze tibs, vegan beef awaze tibs, and ginger tea. Everything was packed with flavor and truly tasty! I also have never been a fan of injera, but Chef Winnie’s version is fantastic! I highly recommend stopping by this little gem.
This is a fantastic spot for delicious Ethiopian cuisine! During my visit to Atlanta, I had the vegetarian combo and both the Awaze and curry tibs. I loved every dish. It's definitely a place you should try, and the service is outstanding!
Edit: Heartbroken to come by today and find all the signs down and the place empty. I guess she's gone Wonderful meal! Everything is fresh-made, including the injera. Winnie is attentive and talented. You will not regret a visit! Reserva una mesa ahora
I've been to Chef Winnie's only once and I need to go back. I had the vegan platter. Food was delicious and the extra sides of heart and soul gave the experience a whole nother dimension. I think I left as a better person.
Think it's closed . I went by and the place was dark and empty! I really wanted to try this spot but will have to drive all the way to Desa Ethiopian Food on Clarimont Road. Darn it!!
Update: I ran into Chef Winnie at Refuge today. She is moving her location to the Clarkston International Bible church on Church St. She says she will be open in about a month!
