Loved Chez Francois! Visited Genêts ona family vacation and our AirBnB host was nice enough to “get us in.” It’s a really small place so I recommend reservations. The 7 tables were full the whole time we were there. Looked like a place locals enjoy...as well. Nothing fancy but, man, was everything delicious! I did the chitterlings and lentils for an appetizer and my wife did the zuchinni salad. Both were amazing. The main course was simple... just flame cooked steaks with fries and salad. Everything was delicious-we agreed that they were the best frites we’ve ever had but maybe that was the wine talking. Dessert was a highlight as well. My wife did the homemade apple tart and I did the cotta...

unusual experience when someone who doesn't eat meat very often, I was pleasantly surprised. hardships to find everywhere to eat in the village, and it only takes bookings, but we were able to get a table thanks to the very helpful staff. the whole food was shown to us before it was cooked on an open fire (during the heat wave! the meat was tender and tasty, so we will return somewhere when we return to genets.

we were really disappointed since dinner, although ok was nothing special. in the did were starter and dessert dry and not freshly made. and whatever they do, do not book a room there overnight as very simple and overpriced and not in suit...bathroom but great atmosphere, friendly and personabler manager and favorite village. his waitress was however strict and not very friendly.
