We visited Chez Germaine for a bite of lunch after having drinks there over the past few days. We had a table in the sun and ordered some drinkable wine. Service was fine and the food orders given. The burgers seemed to be the best...bet and were a generous position size. The Caesar Salad with chicken which was anticipated to be a healthy option came with breadcrumbed deep fried chicken and the mushroom omelette was cooked with too much oil and was of a strange consistency with a thick coating. The Bruschetta was well received whereas my knuckle of pork was extremely fatty with a gigantic bone revealing little meat. All in all lunch was fine but I wouldn't rave and would look at other option...
Restaurant well located on the place of the bell tower when arriving in the center of st Emilion.On the other hand, too high for quality: child menu at 10€ for fries or croque gentleman with dessert and drink!Burger at 20€ and daily menu at 29€ with dessert flat entrance, the dish is not very copied.Map of wines with too expensive glass, live the tourist catch! Too bad because service is pretty nice.
This restaurant is on the upper part of St Emilion. As we didn't want to go all the way down to the market place, (considering we had to walk the way back up), we stopped at this restaurant on the upper square. As it was...a very hot day we found out they had non alcoholic beer, which was a nice surprise. We ordered hamburgers. They were well served and came with the salad and fries.
We visited this bar/bistro on the upmarket main upper square, off rue de Clocher in the picturesque village of St Emilion several times in our three night stay. Pricing is typical of St Emilion itself, €37for a half decent white wine and €15-20 for croque...Monsieur and burgers. The food is good, particularly the Angus burger. It’s a nice place to sit and people watch in the sun.

Paramos para tomar una comida rápida, un Camembert al horno y algo más para picar. No puedo por lo tanto hacer una opinión completa. Lo que tomamos estaba bien, si bien la carta es limitada y simple. Nada para complicarse.El sitio está muy bien y en un día de mucho calor tenían vaporizadores, lo que se agradece mucho.Nos atendieron bien y rápido.
very nice place but when you arrive to stubborn on this beautiful place and that it is noon with a child and that time is not too much of the part you see this beautiful restaurant of the outside you do not hesitate the menu asez cher but what deception in the hambuger plate of super walk frites inmangeable has an exorbitant price tres tres decu
Had lunch today at Chez Germaine, I have read some scathing reviews and yes it's not cheap, set menu 29€ but I couldn't fault the food, it was really nice, it is in a great location with some lovely views just a few steps away. St Emilion has to be the prettiest town in France
we were attracted to the location, beautiful terrace. all the rest is execrable: unpleasant servers, fade food and poor quality, the caesar salad is to be formally avoided and the fries of children returned unfounded of salt. They didn't even want it.

a wonderful place to sit in the sun on an autumn day, watching people and flattering wein. we also had delicious crepps and Italian bruschetta. good prices for the wine. the waiting staff was wonderful.
Quick service but not quality at the rendezvous.Frozen fried fries, fare drinks too high 4.5 €a apple juice 20 cl.nuggets chicken for really low-end children.
