Everything was fine, if not bland. The proportions in the burritos were terrible, very little pico, carne asada (despite the upcharge), or guac (again, despite the upcharge). The lengua was tender and well cleaned, but was barely seasoned and could'veused a little sear or something. If it were relatively inexpensive, I wouldn't care, but a $15 burrito shouldn't be 70%rice. There's a dearth of good Mexican food in the area, but it's worth driving to places like Taqueria El Amigo to get thegood stuff. Even Los Amigos right in Newton is light-years better, and less expensive.
My go to take-out place. Chilacates is an easy dinner or lunch spot with great food and kind workers. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and eating in is always a treat. The bowl of mints at the ordering counter is the nicest touch! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: Being a vegetarian is not hard at this place. Everything is very build-your-own or clearly labeled.
Very solid first expierence. I went and tried two things I've never tried before a torta, and beef tongue. It wasn't offputting as it sounds its like a soft steak. Nothing blew me away but I look forward to visiting again as everything was very well made and the service was quick.
The tortas and the burritos from Chilacates are our favorite! We also ask for the salsa verde and roja which pair deliciously. We always make an effort to stop by when we are in the area. For a sweet treat we also like their tres leches cake. Food: 5 Service: 4

Good lunch. however a little time consuming. the food took 10 minutes to assemble. the environment is cool. receptionist service was good the food was cold but the mexican type taste i like. for the amount of food served I thought the price washigh.
Consistently excellent and fresh. Have loved this place for years! You can?t go wrong with any menu item we have tried almost everything over the years. Their breakfast burrito is one of my favorite foods ever.
Delicious house-made corn tortillas, tender and flavorful birria! I've enjoyed everything I've ordered from here, though they're a little stingy with the (very tasty) guac. Food: 5
Good Mexican restaurant with fresh and delicious food! Tried couple of times and always enjoyed. People are nice and friendly. Outdoor seating available.

10 kinds of meat and one veg filling? At least there is one option for us but not ideal.
Tacos were great. Could taste the freshness of the ingredients.
