I visited El Pelón Taqueria for lunch on Saturday and spent $14 on a fish burrito bowl with guacamole and hot sauce. I requested no beans or rice, expecting a bit more lettuce, but received only a quarter of a bowl. My friend commented that it didn't seem like much and I would probably be hungry afterward. They really should have included a bit more lettuce. While the fish and guacamole were delicious, there just wasn't enough food in the bowl. Disappointing.
El Pelón is a favorite among Boston College students, and it became even better for me with the introduction of vegan cheese on the menu. Amazing food best burrito in Boston, hands down. Bit sad they closed the Fenway location, as this one is a little more off the beaten path, but it's still so good. And the catering in on point, too. My colleagues and I tried eight burritos from El Pelón Taqueria, and they were all amazing! The ingredients were fresh and full of flavor, the seasonings were spot on, and the sauces and guacamole were fantastic. I was very impressed with the service, quality, price, and the quick preparation of the food.
El Pelón Taqueria offers some solid choices for an omni restaurant. I believe they use Daiya cheese, and I found my burrito to be quite decent! While I wouldn’t specifically go out of my way for it, it was perfect for a quick meal.
I absolutely love the plantains at El Pelón Taqueria. I typically order the vegan quesadillas, but I've tried the burritos a couple of times and they were great as well. The horchata is also delightful.
My favorite dish is the black bean quesadilla with vegan cheese. I absolutely love their chips and guacamole!
