My call went to voicemail, but the owner returned it shortly after. He mentioned that if they weren’t busy, he could have someone prepare my order, though he was calling from his cell phone and not at the store. This was my first time visiting Vermont and out of the two people I was with only one knew the area. We walked around Montpelier and after getting some board games and books we came across this place. I love gelato and so does my mother. So we decided to try it out as we hadn 't gotten a chance to have anything sweet in the last couple days. We walked in and it was small but had a very comfortable vibe. We checked out a hill for the first time this weekend and it was delicious! Very kind and helpful staff, we went right before closing so I can't say how many flavors are out, but there was definitely: coconut, espresso, tiramisu, vanilla, and believe it or not: beet gelato. Evidently, the masses love that one! Will definitely go back for more this summer!
I tried the pistachio gelato in a cone, and it's my benchmark for gelato. Chill is a charming little shop with very good gelato, but it could use a little more intensity in the flavor. I do appreciate that all the gelato is made in-house. It's definitely a great place to stop and cool down on a hot summer day in Montpelier.
Last month, I had the chance to visit New England, and I can confidently say that this is one of the best gelato shops I've ever been to. The flavors were delicious and incredibly fresh. Additionally, Ania was very helpful during my visit. I highly recommend checking this place out!
