After living in the area for four years, we finally decided to try this restaurant. Typically, we make the drive to Murfreesboro for our Chinese takeout. We ordered sesame chicken, but we found it to be quite bland and chewy. The sauce lacked flavor and seemed watered down, missing the rich honey sesame taste it should have had. The egg rolls were disappointing as well; they were lacking crunch and tasted like the kind you’d buy frozen and heat in the microwave. We also tried the chicken lo mein, which was just average. Overall, our experience matched the expectations set by the piles of trash we saw next to the front door.
Something has shifted. When I first tried China Star nearly three years ago, I was quite disappointed. However, I recently decided to give it another chance based on a friend's recommendation, and I'm glad I did! Although the menu is primarily Chinese American, the dishes I ordered were well-prepared and really tasty.
I spent $60 on food and only received three fortune cookies for eight people. When I asked for more, the server said I would be charged extra. That’s just ridiculous! They must really need the money.

If you get meat in your food they only put one little piece and then load It up with rice or noodles what ever the cheapest then they didn't even give everything I ordered and the food was nasty
The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent! My son enjoyed his meal so much that he even ate the broccoli, which he usually dislikes. My dish was bursting with flavor.
My family and I really enjoy their food. The staff is always friendly, kind, and polite.
I eat her a few times per month. Everything I've ordered has been consistently great.
