Thankfully my Spidey senses was telling me that something was just not right with this place. I 'm not a stranger when it comes to eating unhealthy food. But this place is a textbook grease trap. Thankfully there were a few people in front of me while I scanned what was being served. People seemed to be enjoying their food here. But what I saw being handed to the customers still didn 't pass the eye test. So I ordered just one piece of chicken and a cup of ice. The smartass woman told me the ice was .99 cents and that nothing is free here!! Oh really bih.... Nobody asked for your version of pleasant conversation anyway. What bugged me was that she didn 't even budge to get the cup of ice sin...
I used to love Church’s chicken under the previous owners from 5 years ago. Seems like ownership has changed a couple of times since then and the quality went down! I gave up on the chicken 2 years ago when the taste drastically changed. Taste like they bake it and then batter and fry it. No seasoning at all. Disgusting! So then I would occasionally get the spicy rice. After tonight’s visit, I am totally done with this location! My rice was gummy the last 2 times with a nasty aftertaste. The biscuits used to be great but this time, they were burnt and hardly had honey butter on them. If Church’s was trying to drive me away for good, they succeeded!! We ordered via UberEats and church’s forgot our four biscuits and sauces. The chicken was pinkish on the inside and tough on the outside fried parts. We ended up throwing away the entire 16 piece box of tenders after seeing the pink inside, plus it tasted stale as if it had been sitting for a while under a warmer. The fries, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese tasted off too. Luckily we had a coupon and just decided to cut our losses and throw most everything away.
1st time at Church's. I got a 2 piece combo with a breast and wing came with biscuit and 1 side. I got mash potatoes and gravy. So the chicken was crispy and flavorful biscuit covered in honey butter I think. Yummy!!! Mash potatoes and gravy ?wasn't a fan. We also got 4 apple pies for $5. food was amazing very juicy. the staff very fast and very hospitable I have not been to a Church's Chicken in a while because they aren't that many out there so I'm used to going to either KFC or Popeyes I can tell you this this Church's chickens speed of service is amazing I would recommend this to anybody that I come in contact to
Disappointed that when I realized the chicken breast was really half a chicken breast and not a whole piece. Also, the mashed potatoes and the gravy were very watery, not good at all. The biscuits were hard and the mac-n-cheese was not good. Nevertheless, the chicken was edible. Prob will not go to this location again.
Nice folks; tiny dining room; very dry chicken tenders even during 12:30pm lunch hour. Nothing like the Church's that used to be in center city Philly. The only thing worthwhile here are the delicious honey butter biscuits. To be generous: one star for the nice folks, and one star for the honey butter biscuits.
First time I've been there in a long time. No familiar faces, I assumed new owner. Tons of chicken sitting there, mashed potatoes pre made and sitting in a heater. Ordered through Uber eats.. they did not give me my fried Okra! ? when you try to call them they don’t ever answer! And the fries taste TERRIBLE! They are stale and taste like they were cooked in very old grease! ? and I told them to add bacon they did not add bacon to my sandwiches. ?
