I met her at the Bridal Expo and she was very nice. She gave me all the info to try out the food. You 're allowed to bring 2 extra friends to taste the food so 4 people total. My daughter I drove up from Texas to visit my mother who lives in downers grove. My mother insisted that we gotta try city barbecue wanted to treat us so on 2/21/2022 at exactly 7:45p we walked in. I noticed that the sign on the door showed they close at 8 upon entering the restaurant the body language and comments amongst the cook cashier confirmed that they do indeed close at 8. The cashier asked if it was dine in or carry out again the cook mentioned under his breath that we close at 8. In my opinion, this restaurant offers the best barbecue around. While I find their prices a bit on the higher side, they’re not excessive. The pulled chicken is incredibly delicious, reminiscent of buttery lobster. I usually feel that brisket can be hit or miss, but theirs is truly exceptional. The ribs might not be the type that fall off the bone, but they are still very tasty. While some of the sides may not be as impressive, the hush puppies are fantastic. They have six different sauces, all of which are excellent, which is remarkable. It's hard to believe that a place can offer six distinct sauces, and they all taste amazing. 07/07/23: I had a terrible experience with their catering service after spending $1400 on food for an event at our office for 40 people. We had planned this event MONTHS in advance, yet the food was over an hour late arriving! I didn’t receive any notification about the delay; I had to call them multiple times for updates, which felt completely unprofessional. On a positive note, when the food finally did arrive, it was actually quite good.

Two words. Potato salad. Even if you don't like potato salad you have to try it. Trust me it will change your life. The barbecue is great too, I've had the pulled pork, chicken and beef brisket. They never disappoint. City Barbaque is a family favorite in our house. Whenever we get barbecue this is where we go. May God bless your business with provision and abundance!
My brother and I visited this place for the first time last weekend and I must say.... we were not disappointed! All of the food and desserts (that we ordered) were so good and tasty. The peach cobbler was phenomenal! The food definitely exceeded my expectations! We will definitely be going back!
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The brisket is incredibly tender and melts in your mouth. The green beans make a perfect accompaniment. The hush puppies exceeded my expectations, too; they were moist on the inside with a nice crunchy exterior. Overall, I give the food a 5 out of 5!
We ordered party packs for an event last weekend, and everything arrived right on time with all the necessary utensils, sauces, and spices. Our guests were thrilled with the BBQ; it was fresh and absolutely delicious! We can't wait to order from City BBQ again!

Do yourself a favor and get your sauce on the side. Try the meat without it first and you won't be disappointed. Turkey, pork, and ribs were absolutely delicious on their own. Great meat done expertly makes this my new go to for really good barb q!
Don't hesitate to try this place; you won't regret it! I'm struggling to choose what to order from the judge sampler to share with someone. It's probably the best grill in the area!
