I stopped in on a whim, the coffee smelled amazing from the sidewalk. The atmosphere is wonderful, and I imagine it to be even better when they can operate at full capacity. The barrista was very cool, chatted with us casually and made us feel welcomed. I ordered a larger peanut butter mocha, and its was a fantastic coffee! As a tourist the prices were a but high for me, but I assume that these prices are typical for the area after going to a few other stores in the area. I would greatly recommend and if I could stop by every day I would!
Wow! This was my first experience with a milkshake coffee, and I can confidently say it’s the best you’ll ever have! It’s simply perfect—absolutely perfect! The shop has a vibrant and sweet atmosphere, and the owner has a delightful British accent, if I’m not mistaken. I feel bad rating this place with only four stars because, unfortunately, the pastries didn’t quite meet my expectations. However, if I visit again, I’m willing to give them another chance and update my review if it’s better!
The coffee here is quite good, and its proximity to the market makes it a convenient stop in the morning. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy, and the baristas are very friendly. City Lights offers a wide variety of food options; I tried a chocolate chip muffin, and it was delicious. When you're done eating, you can pay right away, which is great because you don’t have to wait in line. You simply inform the barista of your order and can find a seat while you enjoy your meal.
Charming little coffee shop! However, they could benefit from some expansion. There’s only one bathroom and not enough seating, but the coffee is excellent. I ordered a large latte, which has three shots of espresso, and the price is quite reasonable. The service is very friendly. Just a heads up, parking can be tricky since it’s located right in front of Market Street.

We sere walking around downtown and saw this little coffee shop and decided to check it out. It’s small, quaint, yet perfect for what we were looking for. Staff were super friendly and quick! Even When we arrived it was packed and for good reason. We ended up running into a few people that were from a few towns over from us. This is a great place for tourists!
Great coffee shop right off Meeting St, a block away from the Charleston Market. Real coffee served hot and a appeared to be a favorite of locals and tourists alike. Best coffee I’ve had in Charleston. Lovely barista also recommend Miller’s all day for Sunday brunch and was amazing!
Fun and fun little coffee shop steps from The Charleston Place Hotel. Enjoy the relaxed feeling in this little hangout. Excellent coffee and a nice selection of bagels and croissants. Sit with your laptop and enjoy the leisure mornings here.
I was a bit frustrated during my visit because there was only one person working, despite the extensive drink menu. All I wanted was a simple cup of black coffee, but I didn't even receive an acknowledgment from the staff.

One of the best vanilla chai lattes I’ve had! And the turkey and cheese croissant was delicious. The barista was very friendly and quick! I will definitely be back to City Lights next time in the Charleston area.
