Once inside, even though we were early, we were seated immediately. The music created a lovely atmosphere—just the right volume and a pleasant mix. Our waitress was attentive, and the recently hired busboy was also impressive. All the staff were friendly and worked hard to take care of everyone, ensuring we never felt overlooked. Our drinks were always refilled, and our dirty plates quickly cleared away. Having worked as a waiter myself, I can appreciate a good team, especially on such a busy night. This was my first time at The Clawson Steakhouse which is unbelievable considering that for 10 years I lived about 2 minutes away. I went on a Saturday night and the parking lot was a nightmare, but I finally got a space in one of their two lots. I was going to go to valet on my next go-around. Despite being told that it would be a 25 minute wait, we were not seated until way over an hour later. During that time we stood in the bar area and had nice conversation. I absolutely love this place! It has a charmingly retro vibe that feels refreshingly authentic. The lounge has a classic ambiance, making it perfect for people-watching. The staff is exceptional, and the food is consistently great. While many restaurants attempt to recreate a nostalgic atmosphere, Clawson Steakhouse truly delivers it. We went to the steakhouse on the way to somewhere else. Great Decision. I had the salmon, my husband had a steak and they were wonderful. Enjoyed the soup, salad and the bread. And finished it off with cream Brulé brûlée and a piece of cake. I was struck by the excellent waitress we had and the busboy. All of the staff seemed equally industrious.
