This place is a Los Angeles institution! The old style decor brings such a sense of old charm in a city that’s filled with changing menus. I’m guessing the items on these menus have been here for decades! The food portions are huge!!! They serve prime rib only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Luckily we ate there on a Sunday! It was my first time here, but my friends go here on a regular. It's a great place to dine while listening/ watching live music. We love who played tonight, but unfortunately we didn't get his name. He played a variety of music really well. As for the food, the salmon and the steak was delicious. I think the food is slightly overpriced compared to other places I've tried, in my opinion. The onion rings garlic toast that was included in our entrée was very delicious. We especially liked the sour cream and chive salad dressing as well. This restaurant has a classic vibe and a wonderful atmosphere. I ordered the grilled scallops and steak. The scallops were perfectly tender, and the steak was expertly cooked to medium. The large baked potato was, of course, delicious, and I can't forget the cheese toast. I also enjoyed some really tasty cosmos. Our server, Eddie, was exceptional—he checked on us regularly, engaged in conversation, and even shared a little story. He pointed out some old photos on the wall near the restrooms. My steak and scallops were cooked to perfection! The meat was incredibly tender and juicy, and my fiancé and I were thoroughly impressed. The waitress and hostess were outstanding! This was the best last-minute dinner decision we could have made. I'm quite particular about my food, but this place exceeded all my expectations in terms of preparation and cooking. First things first, the cocktails. Very reasonably priced and tasty. The food was in huge portions and just kept coming. The prices are great for the food that is served. The server does most of the work table side. All meat is flambéed before serving and baked potatoes are prepared to your liking. I love this place, even though I'm a vegetarian. There is more than enough food and choices. I can't wait to come back.
Amazing service. Our waiter was so attentive and funny. Absolutely knows how to treat a customer. There was live music and the ambience in general was so much fun. The food was a little pricey as I only had a baked potatoe and onion rings (I'm vegetarian. I accompanied my friends) and yet paid $16 for my plate alone, but my favorite part was their chocolate banana martini! Sooo yummy!
