Walked past and was greeted with a lovely smile and welcome.Sat myself down in one of their funky booths and was not only delighted by the professional and warm service, I then scanned the rest of the room and I must say - wow, what an awesome little place to dine. Visiting Mackay for the first time I was impressed by the foodie offerings. I went back to Coco Cubano several times because it had the perfect vibe (never rushed on, attentive service without being in your face, amazing decor, comfy booths, cool music!), great food, yummy drinks and good coffee. Everything I tried I really enjoyed from the Chicken Mojo dish with rice, the Havana salad, the southern fried chicken burger, the chips which amazing, and the smooth and lovely Passionfruit Granita. The $10 express lunch menu is exceptional value. It just felt so good to be sitting in this place, my food oasis for my stay in Mackay! Thanks!
I visited for breakfast on a Sunday. It was around 10:30 and not busy. I ordered the avo on toast and a cappuccino. I ordered the coffee as I sat down and it took around 30 minutes to get to me. I eventually managed to order the avo on toast which arrived about 30 minutes after I ordered it and although it's described as 'avo, cherry tomatoes, sourdough toast', it arrived with partly burnt sourdough toast, 3 (yes 3!) cherry tomatoes cut in half and smashed avo. Very disappointing. I will not return.

From the casual friendly atmosphere, dining in the sun al-fresco to the friendly attentive Service: then there was the food ! Cuban Eggs Benedict- a twist on one of my favourite meals with spicy pulled pork, optioned with gluten free toast ( by necessity) , how awesome! Very tasty! Coffee is great too. Recommended!
Visited in May but this breakfast is still a great memory. Great service, interesting decor, good coffee and most importantly a delicious and generous pulled pork eggs benedict that I have yet to find one equal to. Since dining at Coco Cubano I am on the look out for one of equal taste but none compare.
Our friend who we have not seen for over 25 years suggested we meet there for drinks. Great atmosphere with footpath tables and chairs making an overall wonderful ambience to enjoy each other's company.The staff were very friendly and courteous and wine prices were reasonable. A great couple of hours.
Beautiful lunch, well presented & delicious with excellent service & friendly staff who were able to accommodate my 8 month old with ease & in a friendly manner. We are on holidays up the Queensland coast & this was my favourite meal out.

Wow, this has made great since my first visit was a disappointment. Great friendly service and prompt food. Love it all this time round. Fresh well presented meals.
Haven't eaten here but have coffee on a regular basis. I'm fussy with my coffee and this place delivers good stuff most times
