Coconut Thai Cuisine

My family and I just moved to the area and were looking for a Thai food restaurant to replace out beloved Thai BBQ in Long Beach when we came across Coconut Thai Cuisine. It's a cute and cozy restaurant with helpful staff. Unfortunately, due to the current state of inflation and supply shortages, it seemed like the restaurant is down to a bare bones operation with takeout and delivery as the only options at the moment. I had been craving Thai for weeks and wanted to try a new spot. Trusty Yelp pulled up Coconut Thai for me, so we gave them a try. Calling in to place an order was a breeze, but there are many online options, too. I wanted to order the green curry for my husband, but it wasn't working online. We found out after calling them that it was because it just wasn't available. We ordered the yellow curry with chicken and jasmine rice, drunken noodle with tofu, and chicken wings. Ordered through Uber eats. While the food arrived quickly, I was really disappointed. The Papaya Salad was bland, but also overly spicy. This is one of my favorite dishes and there’s clearly ingredients missing. No umami flavor at all. My green curry was broken and swimming in oil. It was also surprisingly bland. Could use salt and fish sauce I think, but the fact is the dish looked disgusting and curdled and the flavor matched. My pad see ew is likewise under seasoned and poorly cooked. SCAM!I called my fav restaurant, Coco Thai Kitchen and then received an email with the pick up address. The address was to Coconut Thai. This means they are routing calls from Coco Thai Kitchen to THEMSELVES! I went to Coco Thai Kitchen and showed them and they said they contacted the authorities to look into it. The service is great and the staff has kind energy! The place is also visually appealing. The food is yummy! Tired the Tom yum soup, fried rice and chicken dumpling!

Just average. I felt like I needed to add my own spices because something was missing. One good thing was large portions. Beef and pork were tough.

Quick, hot, good amount of food, tasty. We get the Chicken Pad Thai. They text you when it's ready. Our go-to Thai place.
