"I've been in Switzerland lately to see my grandchildren. My daughter works in Geneva for a two-year performance. You and her husband live in Mies, a small town, a few miles north of Geneva. I came to enjoy my almost daily trips to the tea room. The gentleman who works is Patrick. He said he wasn't the owner. He usually speaks French, very little English. He's one of the most beautiful and friendly restaurateurs I met. This part of Switzerland is preserved near France and a large part of French culture, including the reverence for good food. One morning I went to Coppet, a city about two miles north of Mies. I was hungry on the way back and stopped in the tea room. I just ordered coffee before. I have gone gluten-free and have difficulty finding casual food in Europe. There were many pastries BUT also a large salad with Vinagrette dressing, fresh salad and many julienne ham and small pieces of cheese. I think what I like about the tea room is the quality it has (for me) a refuge. The house of my daughter is loud and chaotic most of the time, hardly surprising with two children under three years. I love them both very much, but an old guy like needs a break at some point. Every afternoon I spend some hours in the tea room and read or write. There are also high-quality Wi-Fi. Patrick knows what I want when I come in and feel welcome there. The tea room is located on the main street in Mies near a pharmacy. My daughter recommended it when I arrived. I'm so glad she did. Very recommended!"

I've been spending some time in Switzerland lately to see my grandchildren. My daughter is working in Geneva for a two-year gig. She and her husband live in Mies, a small town a few miles north of Geneva.I've come to really enjoy my almost daily trips to the tea-room. The gentleman who works is named Patrick. He's told he's not the owner. He speaks French mostly, very little English. He's one of the most delightful and friendliest restarauteurs I've encountered. This part of Switzerland is close to France and much of the French culture, including the reverence for good food, is maintained. One morning I walked to Coppet, a town about two miles north of Mies. I was hungry on the way back and stopped at the tea-room. Before then, I'd only ordered coffee. I've gone gluten free and have trouble finding casual eats in Europe. There were plenty of pastries BUT also a big salad with vinagrette dressing, fresh lettuce and lots of julienne ham and small chunks of cheese. I think what I like about the tea-room most is the quality it has (for me) of a refuge. My daughter's house is noisy and chaotic most of the time, hardly surprising with two children under the age of three. I love them both dearly, but an old guy like needs a break sometime. I spend about a couple of hours in the tea-room each afternoon reading or writing. There is high quality wifi as well. Patrick knows what I want when I walk in and has made me feel welcome there. The tea-room is on the main street in Mies near a pharmacy. My daughter recommended it when I arrived. I'm so glad she did.Highly recommended!
