"A nice outdoor seating area, but all the sun umbrella tables were occupied. Had to sit in the full sun for my average coffee. Around the side were the shades areas for dining but we were not allowed to use them for drinks.. Poor hospitality"

We had an absolutely amazing time yesterday visiting the gardens and thought of finishing the afternoon with a refreshment. We did therefore ask for a table for two on the terrace for a drink and an ice cream. It was just after half past two. Despite the fact that about a third of the tables were empty in the terrace, we were told, twice (and not overly politely at that), that we could not sit outdoors as some guests might be coming for lunch. We were invited to take a sit on the other side of the building, in full sun, which we did. I’m afraid that after waiting a fair while without anyone coming to take our order, we went to spend our money in Sarlat. A sour note to end an otherwise delightful afternoon.
You do not really come to Eyrignac to eat but after a visit to the exquisite gardens, a little something with a glass or two are welcome, especially won a beautifully sunny day. The restaurant is set near the garden entrance and the terrace offers beautiful views across formal gardens to the manor. The menu is simple, mostly open sandwiches, with excellent 'fried potatoes ', but with a few more complex plats including a 'omelet de Monsieur le Cure ' with capes and foie gras. There is decent local wine by the carafe. We had a pleasant end to a great morning at Eyrignac,
We had lunch at Côté Jardins after visiting the wonderful gardens at Eyrignac. The restaurant is part of the gardens. There are inside and outside areas overlooking the gardens. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu is dominated by their selection of sourdough toasts with various toppings, frites and salad, but there are a few other dishes too on the a la carte menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our smoked salmon and ham and cheese toasts. The gardens and lunch made a great day out at Eyrignac.
I can understand those who visit this place just for the restaurant. Set in a very lovely location, with well-maintained buildings and topiary all around, the location is excellent. The service was very good and the food outstanding. Well presented food, plenty of it and an imaginative menu made for a great dining experience. Loved it.
