I absolutely adored this café! We ordered chai tea, strawberry iced tea, a maple crumble muffin, and a grilled chicken and brie sandwich, and everything was simply delicious. The chai tea stood out as one of the best I've ever tasted, and I always make it a point to sample it at every restaurant or café I visit. I appreciated the reasonable prices, and the portion sizes were larger than I expected. There were numerous pastry and dessert options that were not only visually appealing but also incredibly tasty. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. From the music to the décor and the delightful wall of books, everything was charming. The books are ava...

On a sweltering summer day, I decided to explore the historic streets of Richmond Hill and stumbled upon Covernotes, piqued by curiosity. This restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored high school building from the late 1800s, which now connects to the Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts. The architecture has withstood several fires and has been rebuilt multiple times over the years. Despite the renovations, expansions, and repaints aimed at modernizing the town, the building still exudes a charming, rustic vibe. I can only imagine how grand it must have felt to attend school there in the past, likely with only a small number of students learning together across different age group...

This place is incredible! The ambiance is wonderful, and I really enjoy the idea of having books available in the coffee shop. You can grab one to read while savoring a delicious Flat White. The sandwiches and scones are exceptional, and the pastries are quite nice as well. I also liked the background music—it had a nostalgic feel and was very varied. A shoutout to the barista too; it’s one of the few places where they still take the time to create beautifully made coffee! This has definitely turned into our favorite spot.

I ordered a chai tea latte and a cranberry scone. The scone was fresh and absolutely delicious. However, the latte could have been served a bit warmer—I picked it up right away—but it was still enjoyable. We also had a fun sticker exchange with a group of friends, and the staff were very accommodating about it. The atmosphere is cozy, and I can see why it gets so busy. If I didn't live so far away, I'd love to visit more often.

Covernotes has quickly become my go-to place for tea and studying. This delightful little café exudes a cozy, small-town atmosphere, decorated with an assortment of art pieces and a generous selection of books in the back room. The range of loose leaf teas is wonderful—definitely worth trying them all! The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, and on top of that, they offer free Wi-Fi.
