Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I ordered a hashbrown casserole. The hashbrowns were not crispy, mushy and barely warm. Casserole had been microwaved and then left to sit. Cheese was hard and not appetizing. A few in the group felt the meat was freezer burned and tasted as such. Eggs looked as though they sat under a heat lamp to get cooked. Son ordered a side of ham because they couldn't put it in the meal. The side of ham was a thin as paper and not even the size of a dollar bill. No way was it 6oz of meat. We couldn't get apitcher of water because the pitchers get stolen. Then waitress didn't return to fill the water glasses. We waited 40 minutes for seats. Then waited for our meals. I've NEVER had a bad experience at this place until...So I was pretty impressed that they finally started serving alcohol BUT when they card you Everytime AND regulate when you can order another drink (even though it takes minutes to get the other one out) I was informed by my waitress Liz that I couldn't even order another drink until the one being consumed had to be gone before I could order the next one, is nothing less than obsurd! Shame on you! You're not my mommy or my daddy and I'm an adult! Unfortunately I probably won't be back! They'll probably be glad since I made the last waitress cry. Get bette policies people!!! At least be consistent! What a joke!

This Cracker Barrel meal was excellent with every food item delicious, good portions and well-prepared. I eat at Cracker Barrel several times a year in various locales and I almost always am happy but this one seems especially good for the meal I often order (seen in photo), grilled rainbow trout, hashbrown casserole, turnip greens and biscuits. The free Eclipse pancakes (for Eclipse Day) were fantastic and much better than another well-known chain’s pancakes. Of course, you can’t beat the bottle of Vermont maple syrup that comes with them.

4/7/24 Place was full! Our server was great. She took our order quickly and it came out accurate. She checked on us regularly and took care of everything we needed. We had a wonderful time. Even though it was a little busy, we still got seated in about 5 minutes, waited on in just a few minutes. We received our food promptly and it was delicious, Grandpa's country fried breakfast was fantastic. Our server took excellent care of us. Can't wait for our next visit!

I was on the road working in Des Moines for work. I wanted to go somewhere and get something for Easter dinner, take it back to my hotel room I seen cracker barrel when I looked up restaurants near me. That was perfect.... I got the catfish plate it was sooo good.

Server came to my table immediately and took my drink order and fast service. Ordered roast beef dinner and it was very good. Overall 5 stars. No complaints. My server was Lizbeth. She was great!
