Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

This restaurant can be a bit inconsistent. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was tasty, and the sides were served piping hot. The fried pickles, however, were overly greasy and needed to be blotted with a napkin, but once I did that, they tasted quite good. The server and host were friendly, although the woman who processed our payment seemed a bit annoyed. Overall, it was a decent experience for a Monday afternoon, though there's definitely room for improvement.

I had a negative experience at the State College location where I wasn't attended to at all, so I decided to try this location while traveling west. The staff here were incredibly kind and friendly. The food was delicious and served quickly. The retail employees were fantastic too. I recommend skipping the State College location and heading to Altoona instead!

I had my first experience at Cracker Barrel and was pleasantly surprised! They serve a generous portion of food at prices that are surprisingly low. With a wide variety of sides and entrees to choose from, you'll want to sample everything! The staff is incredibly friendly, and you can even browse the gift shop after your meal!

I had a fantastic meal; everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The only problem was that the labels on the containers were mixed up—the medium doneness was labeled for the well-done steak and vice versa. Aside from that, it was absolutely perfect! Food and service is what you would expect of Cracker Barrel restaurant. Pancakes are delicious with the warmed maple syrup. This was my first time ordering the Beignets and they were a sweet appetizer, I suggest ordering when you visit. Nice and cleanrestrooms as well.

I ordered sunny side up eggs, and surprisingly, they can be difficult to get right, even when served right away. However, my eggs were cooked almost perfectly, which is quite impressive considering they had to be delivered across town.

Great place to eat any time of the day. Our food was delicious. You get nice size servings for the price. Fast friendly service . Love looking at all the antiques in the restaurant.

I like the crispy Southern Fried Chicken and the macaroni and cheese and the loaded steak fries taste good.
